i break things for a living: bug bounty, penetration testing, and CTFs for the fun of it. if a thing has an attack surface, i want to know what it looks like from the outside — and then i want to write it up properly, because a finding nobody can reproduce isn’t a finding.

the useful part of doing this for years is breadth. i’ve had to learn a little about nearly everything technical — protocols, filesystems, radio, build systems, whatever the target happened to run on that week. ask me something obscure. i’ll either know it or tell you plainly that i don’t, which is the half of expertise people skip.

the other life: i teach chemistry part time, and i’m a pyrotechnic engineer. so i’m one of very few people who can say “trust me, this is literally my job” about both stack traces and controlled explosions.

that combination makes me insufferable at parties and genuinely useful at 3am.
